...WILL FORGIVE THEIR SIN...

Lord, you tell us in your Word that “all scripture is given by inspiration of God” (II Timothy 3:16-17) and that “holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost” (II Peter 1:21). Because of your Word, we know that Ezra’s writing of Your covenant with King Solomon in 2 Chronicles 7:14 was inspired by You: “If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and heal their land.” We know from the Chapter 6 of II Chronicles that this covenant was not just for previous sins, but for those that King Solomon knew would be committed in the future. Repeatedly King Solomon asked the Lord to hear the (future) prayers of His people, forgive them, and heal their land.

We confess our sin (individually and as a Nation) before you Lord. We have turned our back on You and have:

  • Removed prayer and your Ten Commandments from our public places, including our public schools.

  • Legalized the murder of millions of unborn children.

  • Accepted divorce as the norm.

  • Participated in pornography to the extent that it is now one of the largest businesses in the world.

  • We are surrounded by false idols we’ve created.

  • We covet after other people’s belongings—as we daily witness robberies of people and businesses on our televisions.

  • We bear false witness against others. Our world view tells us that truth is whatever you want it to be.

  • We no longer honor our mothers and fathers.

In review Lord, we have broken the Great Commandment to love the Lord our God with all of our hearts, minds, and souls. Plus, we have disobeyed the Commandment that is like unto it—to love thy neighbor as thyself. With all of our hearts Lord we stand on Your covenant promise to King Solomon and we humbly come before You, seeking Your face, confessing our sins (individually and as a Nation), and turning from our wicked ways—that You might hear from heaven and forgive our sin and heal this great Country. WE STAND ON

YOUR PROMISE TO KING SOLOMON and thank you ahead of time for turning us back to You. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen
