7:14 PRAYER THIRTEEN

...SEEK MY FACE AND PRAY...

Heavenly Father, I come to you in humility and despair over the state of our country. I know You grieve over this nation that was once a nation "under God". We are a people that once proudly proclaimed You as our authority. Now there is persecution and silencing for those who proclaim Your name. Many see Jesus as just another pathway to heaven, instead of the only way.

In honesty, I confess that I become frustrated with the state of our country and don't know what to pray or how to pray. I am completely dismayed by the lack of respect for You and Your word. We have become a passive people that tolerates evil and even in some cases applauds it. We have no respect for others and forget that we are all "image bearers" of You. Yet, You continue to love us and desire that all come to know You and be saved. Even in our great sin, You love us! I praise and thank You for that.

Remind me, Lord, that prayer is the only way to change the trajectory of our country. When I am without words, Holy Spirit, speak through me. Help me to pray without ceasing. Help me to pray with faith and to remember the battle is Yours. Lord, put into positions of authority those that love You and desire to obey You. Help Your people to support them with prayer. Remind me that You are faithful to hear and answer our prayers. "The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective." (James 5:16). Lord, I trust You and Your plan!
