PRAYER FOR GOVERNORS

Sovereign God, we know that You appoint leaders, rulers, and kings. We see in the scriptures that You allow good governors to bless Your people, but that You also allow evil governors to cause Your people to seek You once again. Our nation has a mixture of good and bad governors, and we pray that You will use each of them for Your purposes. We pray for men and women of strong character, good morals, honesty, integrity, and a desire to better their people and their state. Surround them with equally upright and wise state officials to help them to govern the state with right motives and good intentions. Cause them to seek Your face and to be led by Your Word given to us in the Bible. May we, as a nation, be drawn closer to You because of the righteous leaders of each state of the union.
