PRAYER FOR HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES

Father, today I pray for the men and women in the United States House of Representatives. Their task is to hold the purse-strings of America, to make wise choices concerning the revenue and taxation of the people of this nation, and to investigate crimes committed by members of the government. They also are to honestly and fairly represent the people of their districts. They are not elected for the lobbyists, nor for their own financial gain, but to do what is best for the people in their own district. I pray that You will remind each member of the House what their role should be, and that You will guide them into right decisions. Cause them to be men and women of integrity, truth, and commitment to uphold the Constitution of the United States. Give them the desire to please You first and foremost, knowing that this will then be the best thing for their constituents. Keep them from temptation so that they do not fall into the trap of the enemy. Give them courage and fortitude to stand on Your principles. Multiply all of these attributes in the life of the Speaker of the House. We cry out for good representation in our government!
