PRAYER FOR THE SUPREME COURT

Gracious and merciful Father, I come to You, with thanksgiving and gratitude, because You are Sovereign, faithful, trustworthy, full of power and wisdom, the One and Only Living God. Thank You for allowing me to come before You, to call out to You.

I lift up to You the Supreme Court Justices of the United States. I know that You, O God, appoint rulers, judges, and kings. You never make a mistake, and You have placed these nine justices to preside over the laws of our land. They are charged with ensuring the American people the promise of equal justice under the law, and that is a daunting responsibility. How I pray that each one would seek You for the wisdom and guidance they need to carry out this task. For there is no justice outside of You. Please, Lord, help them to desire Your Truth, and to make their judgments according to Your will and Your purposes. Protect them from the evil one, who is a liar and a deceiver. For those on the court who do not call on Your name, draw them, Holy Spirit, to Yourself. Show them Who You are, and who they are, and bring them to repentance and salvation. For those on the court who do belong to You, encourage them, strengthen them, fill them with Your Truth. We need You, God, and the Justices need You. And so, I call out to You the names of the Supreme Court Justices, asking You to work in and through them: Chief Justice John Roberts, Associate Justice Clarence Thomas, Associate Justice Samuel Alito, Jr., Associate Justice Sonia Sotomayor, Associate Justice Elena Kagan, Associate Justice Neil Gorsuch, Associate Justice Brett Kavanaugh, Associate Justice Amy Coney Barrett, and Associate Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson. For Your glory, Amen.
